Dress Code

Landmark Christian Elementary
Discipline Guidelines

Goal:

  1. To provide an orderly environment for learning where students are safe physically and emotionally.
  2. To train students to allow Christ to show through them in honoring others.
  3. To reflect our Heavenly Father’s model of discipline where character is lovingly molded and discipline is delivered with grace.

Classroom Discipline Plan
Each teacher (including Specials) will publish for students, parents, and administrators their classroom discipline plan.  This plan will include clearly defined guidelines / rules and detours / consequences to be utilized to ensure these guidelines are followed.

Office Visit Guidelines

The following offenses would be considered severe and could result in an office visit and principal involvement:

  1. Fighting
  2. Disrespect to adults or other students
  3. Bad language
  4. Stealing
  5. Cheating
  6. An accumulation of small offenses disruptive to the learning environment
  7. Other instances deemed severe by the teacher

Possible Consequences Employed by the Principal

  1. Loss of privilege
  2. In-School Suspension  - Parent would be required to pay for the staffing required by this consequence.
  3. Sent home  -  Parent would be called and expected to pick child up immediately from school.

Uniform Guidelines

Students are expected to follow the uniform guidelines provided by the school.  To overlook uniform violations is unfair to those who are conscientiously following the dress code.  For this reason, a form will be sent home when a student is out of uniform in some way.  This form is to be returned to the school signed by the parent.  The following consequences will be used for uniform deficiencies:
1st offense in the 9 week quarter  -  Warning note sent home
2nd offense in the 9 week quarter  -  2nd warning note sent home
3rd offense in the 9 week quarter  -  Parent will be contacted by the office.

Courtesy Guidelines for Students
Hallways

  • Walk quietly on the right side of the hall to allow others to work uninterrupted.
  • Keep hands and feet to yourself.
  • Honor others by opening doors, picking up dropped items, and being mindful of the needs of others.

Lunchroom

  • Enter lunchroom quietly and follow correct walking path to the serving line so no one’s lunch is spilled.
  • Be courteous and honoring to those serving lunch (thank you, yes ma’am).
  • Once you are seated, remain seated unless you have permission to leave your seat.  Raise your hand for permission.
  • Sit on your bottom with your feet under the table and talk in a mannerly voice to those nearby.
  • When your class is dismissed, stand, push in your chair, and collect your trash.  Follow the line and walking path to throw away trash.
  • To honor those still seated, wait quietly in a line for your teacher.

*Those forgetting to be courteous in the lunchroom will be reminded twice and then asked to move to the silent table for the rest of lunch.  This will allow time for them to watch others for manner reminders.
