Financial Aid
Financing an education today is often the single largest financial commitment a family makes, next to the purchase of their home. For many, their desire for an excellent education for their children exceeds their ability to pay for it. For those families who are also committed to the fundamental importance of an education that honors God as the creator of all things and all knowledge, we want to provide assistance. It is our belief that the educational environment and experience is enhanced when there is a diversity of economic backgrounds among the students. Landmark has limited funding available to offer financial assistance, up to a maximum of 50% tuition, to those families who can demonstrate objective financial need. This is accomplished through the use of a third party organization, which will evaluate your application in complete privacy.
What is financial aid?
Financial aid is tuition assistance offered for the purpose of helping you meet your educational expenses. LCS funds this aid through the budget and our Annual Fund.
Where do I get an application?
The Private School Aid Service (PSAS) application can be obtained from the LCS Business Office. There is a $15 LCS processing fee to obtain the application. There is a PSAS processing fee (amount of fee is listed on the application) due when you mail the completed application to PSAS.
When do I apply for financial aid?
You must have an application for admission on file to apply for financial aid. Your acceptance is required, before award notification. PSAS applications can be obtained in January and need to be forwarded to PSAS no later than March 31, to be considered for aid for fall of that year. Applications may be submitted after March 31, but will normally be considered for the following school year.
Who should apply for financial aid?
All tuition assistance is based on demonstrated financial need. PSAS evaluates need by analyzing:
- Total taxable income from parents (including child support, social security, welfare, etc.)
- Marital status of parents
- Size of family and dependency status
- Number of children in tuition-charging schools
- Age of parents
- Social Security expenses
- Medical and dental expenses
- Child care costs
- Current value and indebtedness of real estate and other major assets
- Value and indebtedness of any business and/or farm ownership
All applications are reviewed for accuracy. Incorrect applications will cause a delay in processing and may prevent you from receiving aid.
Who is eligible to apply for financial aid?
All enrolled students, and students applying for admission, may apply. The student billing account of enrolled students must be current. Re-applicants must consistently maintain high standards of citizenship.
