Ashlyn Bozeman, senior I have attended LCS since the 4th grade. We lived in Griffin for the first five years, and my mother drove three hours each day to bring me to school (two daily round trips). We never minded the drive, though, because the rewards were so great. I have so many fond memories from Landmark’s overnight field trips, including Space Camp, Jekyll Island, USS Yorktown, Williamsburg, Washington, D.C., and Camp Winshape. These trips are a wonderful way for students to get to know one another on a more personal basis. Another thing I value about Landmark is that the teachers always make time to help students. Assistance is always available; all you have to do is ask for it. Landmark’s environment is spiritually nurturing, while at the same time, teachers challenge students academically to prepare them for the independent study habits they will need for a successful college experience. Several alumni have told me that college is a breeze because they were so well prepared by Landmark’s curriculum. I will always be grateful for the sacrifices that my parents have made in order to send me to a school that fosters the same principles that they teach at home. |

Julie Blanton, 5th grade I have been at Landmark since kindergarten. I told my best friend all about Landmark and now she is a Landmark student, too. I told her that Landmark is a good place to learn more about God and that it is fun and you get to hang out with your friends. I also told her that Landmark is a clean and safe school and that the teachers challenge you, but they don't make it too hard. One of my favorite class projects was when I worked with a partner to create a board game based upon a book that we had read. Our game was based on the book A Cricket in Times Square and we designed the characters and action of the game to go along with the story. |

Claire Machold, 7th grade Landmark Christian School has impacted my life greatly. Since I started attending as a fourth grader, my spiritual growth has reached greater heights and my academics have flourished with the help of the extremely gifted teachers. They are there to help you with anything at any time. The students are wonderful, and I have made many lifelong relationships at this school. With a smaller group of students per grade, you get to know everybody and you become a closer “family.” Jesus Christ is the center of everything at LCS, from the first-class academics to the superior athletics. I’m thankful for Landmark Christian School and the impact it has had on my life, and now I’m better prepared to impact the world for Jesus Christ! |

Thomas Ryden, senior At Landmark I have had many opportunities to grow in confidence and leadership. I have been involved in music, sports, and student government. My Bible classes played a large role in my spiritual growth by making Christianity make sense intellectually. As I graduate from Landmark, I feel prepared to face any challenge. I know that where I go Christ goes, and so I have no fear. |

Darius Smith, 5th grade This is my third year at Landmark. I have a bunch of friends here and I am looking forward to playing football in middle school. We have a good sports program. My favorite Landmark field trip was our 4th grade trip to Camp Wahsega. While we were there we learned pioneer skills like making candles and building shelters in the woods, and we enjoyed good food, hiking in the woods, fun problem-solving games, and clean cabins. I like my teachers at Landmark. They are friendly and easy to get along with. They like to have fun, too. |

Amy Stewart, 9th grade Landmark has been a part of my life for ten years now. Describing how it has influenced me is hard to put into words. Since I was in K-5, Landmark has not only taught me academics but also how to live my life according to biblical principles. Having Bible classes every year has developed my relationship with Christ dramatically and has given my faith a firm foundation. The Leadership Academy has taught me to step out and become a leader for Christ as I serve and work with others. Another strong asset of Landmark is the faculty. Every teacher has truly cared about me and has taught me with enthusiasm. This year I went with Landmark to Honduras on a mission trip, and on that trip I learned more about myself and the power of God than I ever have. I love that Landmark provides opportunities for students to go out and be servants for Christ. Looking over the past ten years, I realize that in many ways Landmark is a second home for me. That's how special Landmark is to me! |

Tim Creamer, senior As a graduating senior, I have found that to truly succeed it is necessary to constantly grow in all areas of life. To do this you need two things; a desire to better yourself through sacrifice and a source that allows the opportunity for growth. Landmark is the source I needed to provide such opportunity. Landmark provides a strong academic foundation, including honors and AP courses, to prepare you for college study. The athletics at Landmark are extraordinary. If your desire is to pursue athletics after high school, the opportunity is waiting. Landmark also provides an environment that encourages spiritual growth. Landmark realizes that serving God is the most important aspect of our lives. Not only are students trained in a Godly manner by all teachers, but the opportunity to serve the Lord is never ending for students. This is the type of atmosphere students need, and Landmark provides it. |
Faculty
Kenny Dallas, head football coach and middle school boys Bible teacher
As a teacher, coach, and father of 4 sons of my own, I am blessed to be a part of a school like Landmark. I've chosen to be a part of this team at Landmark because it truly is a school that is dedicated to its vision of preparing every student to impact the world for Jesus Christ. My God-given specific purpose at Landmark is to challenge our young men to embrace Biblical manhood. In a culture that defines manhood with pictures such as greed, womanizing, and selfishness...I want to give our young men a much different picture. In fact, I want to give them a 4-part picture of manhood. A Godly man should be a friend, mentor, warrior, and king. A friend loves others as he loves himself. A mentor shows/teaches others to love what God loves and to hate what God hates. A warrior stands up for what is right, true, noble, and good no matter what the cost. And finally, a king provides for all those that he leads. I am at Landmark to see young men mature into strong, Godly men!
Scott Gilbert, high school English teacher
My sincerest hope and prayer as the head of the English Department at Landmark Christian School, is that we will fully equip our students with the abilities they will need to excel at college. More than any other skill, what will serve them best is the ability to understand information they receive and be able to balance that knowledge against their Christian faith. Certainly the college years are a time of discovery and exploration; I want to prepare our students to navigate those years successfully. By providing opportunities for them to think critically about the literature that we read, I also provide opportunities for self-reflection and bolster a maturing ability to comprehend the ideas that will confront them later on. Ultimately, I hope that all students come to understand that no matter the story, the poem, the play; no matter the author, the country, the time period; no matter the ideology or belief system: all writing, at least on some level, is an attempt to understand our place in the world and what it means to be human. All stories can be used to point to the same truth - that there is a God who wants nothing more than to love us. If my students can grasp that one simple concept, I’ve done my job.
Kelly Bulger, elementary teacher
What a joy to teach in a school where we have the assurance that God holds our lives in His hands. He knows our needs and the needs of our students and is able to meet them. As a Landmark teacher I am so thrilled to be part of something so much bigger than my efforts and my strength. What freedom there is in having the common ground of the Holy Scripture to guide us in everything from what good sportsmanship is to the proper use of standardized test scores. As a member of the faculty and a parent of three Landmark students, I am daily aware of the huge task set before me to prepare these students and my children to impact the world for Jesus Christ when the world is hostile to the things of God! But as large as the task we face as parents and teachers, greater is the Lord who strengthens us to minister to each other - to our students and their families here at Landmark. As a teacher I have seen behind the scenes and glimpsed the huge investment of time, energy, and prayer the faculty have made in the lives of my three children. How can I do less for my students?
Vince Cobb, high school science teacher and Bible Dept. head
Landmark Christian School has been a blessing for my family. Raising four boys is a test and trial in itself, and finding the right educational environment for their nurturing and growth is also tough. When I asked the Lord to help provide a way for me to raise them properly, He led me to Landmark Christian School. For the last 7 years my sons have studied and grown here, while I have been blessed with the opportunity to teach and serve. Through Landmark, God provided a way for me to have a ministry to youth as a teacher. Landmark is a special place for me. God's grace is here, He is doing a great work here, and I am excited and blessed to be a part of it.
Whitney Stansell, high school art teacher
Landmark Christian School is a wonderful place to teach and I am honored to teach our high school art students. I am excited about the great collaborative spirit that we have among the fine arts areas at Landmark. The art, music, and drama departments work together on events throughout the year, with art pieces displayed in combination with dramatic and choral events. Recently, the art department joined the music department on a trip to New York City. The art students visited museums and took a workshop from a professional artist in her private studio, while the music students rehearsed and participated in a choral concert at Carnegie Hall. This was an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime, trip and the kids were all impacted by the experience. I look forward to each wonderful year of creativity with the students and my colleagues at Landmark.
Parents
Jay Knight, parent of four Landmark students
We love Landmark. Our 10th grade daughter still sees and gets encouragement from her second grade teacher. Our sixth and fourth grade sons routinely get prayers and hugs from their kindergarten teacher. Our eleventh grade daughter is hanging out with kids she has been in class with since first grade. Although there are a lot of good schools around, Landmark has provided a place that has encouraged academic excellence for our kids and spiritual growth for our entire family. Not only have we never regretted this decision, my wife and I celebrate it often.
Lauren McGuire, parent of three Landmark students
Landmark has truly been an extension of our home and the principles that we have tried to instill in our children. It has provided an excellent conservative, Christian environment for our children to grow and learn without sacrificing excellence in academics, athletics, or fine arts. Our goals for our children have always been for them to learn to think for themselves and become disciplined, self-motivated students, have a servant’s heart, and develop a strong work ethic. Through the classroom, the Leadership Academy, and the influence of the Landmark coaching staff, these qualities are being encouraged in our children’s lives. Many of the principles that we have taught at home have been validated by teachers, administrators, and coaches - what a great gift to us as parents. Landmark has truly been a blessing to our family and I thank God for all the sacrifices and hard work by everyone involved to make it a place where our children will be challenged and encouraged to be all that they can be as they search for God’s will for their lives.
Lydia Glaize, parent of four Landmark students and two Landmark alumni
Educating our six children has always been a priority for my husband Melvin and me, second only to the transfer of our Christian faith to them. Landmark provides the education that we desire for our children. It is an environment of high standards which fosters a community of excellence and achievement. The faculty and staff are the daily driving force behind student achievement in academics, arts, and athletics. Often faculty and staff members have become mentors, counselors, and true friends to our children and family. For this we give thanks unto God who led us to this school.
Landmark has helped our two oldest children, Annamarie ’04 and Zechariah ’06, to discover direction for their futures. Annamarie is finishing a political science degree at Davidson College, with a concentration in Israeli/Arab/African Studies. She intends to oversee a 501c3 educational organization that will provide schools for kids that have been marginalized due to war and disease in those regions of the world. Zechariah found a dual love for science and football and, now, he has the awesome responsibility and opportunity to pursue his secondary education in the Ivy League, at Dartmouth College. Funding a Landmark education for our six children has never been an easy thing, but it is worth so much more than it costs. We are grateful for the role that Landmark Christian School has played in the building of each Glaize child to impact his world for Christ.
Karen Loritts, parent of Holly Loritts (Class of 2002)
When our daughter Holly graduated from Landmark, she received a full academic scholarship to Xavier University in Louisiana. At Xavier, Holly studied pre-med biology and English and earned honors in chemistry. She was installed in 4 honor societies: Pre-Medical, International English, Biology, and National Honor Society. Holly graduated from Xavier, Magna Cum Laude, in August 2006 with a double major in pre-med biology and English. Holly was offered admission to five medical schools and decided to accept a full, non-resident, scholarship at the University of Louisville.
We are so grateful that God provided Holly with a fine education at LCS. She was well prepared for the intense classes at Xavier and is currently enjoying medical school. We know that the Lord sent our daughter to LCS, where she met godly men and women who served and taught with a commitment to excellence. We truly appreciate the investment that Landmark makes in young lives. May the Lord deeply bless the people of Landmark!

Alisha Ferman - Class of 1997, Dentist
Landmark prepared me very well for the strenuous academics of medical college. My teachers at Landmark were awesome and served as good examples to me. They encouraged me that I could be whatever I wanted to be. My coaches made a huge difference in my life, incorporating spiritual lessons into their teaching of athletics, especially Barb Mason who coached me in volleyball and swimming. Other highlights that I remember from my time at Landmark are the chapel services and the good speakers that we heard there, and being able to participate in Landmark's first-ever international mission trip, which was to Belize. I fell in love with Belize and have returned there a number of times since.
Alisha graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in August 2005 with a Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) degree. Alisha practices dentistry with her father, Daniel Ferman, at Thomas Crossroads Dental Center in Newnan, GA.
