![]() Visual Arts in ElementaryThe elementary years serve as the cornerstone for learning and exploring creativity through the basic elements of design. Using a wide range of materials and methods, the early creative experience is nurtured to encourage a desire for further study. Teachers ensure this early experience to be one of creative freedom as well as giving validity and awareness to craftsmanship. Students are exposed to famous works of artists throughout history and create projects from within some of those styles.
Visual Arts in Middle SchoolAs students progress through the middle school years, they are introduced to a wider variety of art experiences. At the middle school level, students continue to learn about art history and are introduced to a variety of mediums. Students learn more about the elements of art, the principles of design and how to apply these to their work. The Masters inspire, technology is integrated, and a wide variety of mediums and techniques are used as art tools. The young artist gains confidence in critical thinking and problem solving skills to create strong compositions in drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, and 3-D projects. Visual Arts in High SchoolAt the high school level, elective classes are offered in drawing, painting, sculpture and digital photography. High school students interested in a more advanced curriculum are encouraged to further develop their knowledge, skills and creativity through the wide variety of AP Art course offerings.
