Summer Academic Assignments 2007
Middle School
Math
Summer math work is only assigned to students entering the following math courses in the fall: Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra ll, and Honors Pre-Calculus.
Assignments are available at www.lcsmath.com.
Reading
Students must read and pass a quiz on one grade appropriate book listed in our Middle School Accelerated Reading (AR) List. Check here to see our list of approved books for your grade level (e.g., rising 8th graders should choose 8th grade level books). Students must pass the test with at least a score of 70% in order to earn 30 points counted in the first quarter of the academic year. No partial credit will be awarded; no optional “book-reports” are available.
For best results on the quiz, the book should be reviewed or completed within 48 hours of testing. AR testing will be available in the library August 6-10, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.; students may also take the tests in the library during the first week of school, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. The last day to take a Summer Reading AR Quiz is August 17.
