A message from Matt Skinner
Up Front: I heard a great sermon a few weeks ago by Dave Ramsey, author and radio host of the Dave Ramsey Show. He spoke on the need to have focused intensity over time that, with God involved, will create unstoppable momentum. He put in the form of an equation that looked like this: Fi/t(G)=M. I really like that. For some reason it resonates with me. Maybe it’s because you can apply it in every area of your life. At work, in your personal life, in your family, or wherever you need to create momentum.
I like to dream about what would happen if we, Landmark Christian School, and you, parents and supporters, focused our intensity on building, molding and shaping a school that was committed to preparing children for the life God has planned for them. Not for the life the world has for them, or the life we as parents dream for them, or even the life they themselves dream about. But the life God has for them, the one He has dreamed for them.
The neat thing about God is He likes to go beyond our expectations. I think sometimes we look at God as this cosmic killjoy whose desire it is for us to live these mundane, ordinary lives when, in fact, what He wants to do in our lives is “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Eph. 3:20). God has so much more than we can even imagine if we will allow Him to work in our lives. There is a catch, however. We have to trust Him enough to give Him everything.
It is my prayer that as we enter this period in the life of Landmark Christian School, we will surrender all of our desires, agendas, goals, and dreams and seek God’s. The opportunities that lay before us are exciting. We must be diligent to seek His direction and, when we are sure of that, focus our intensity on the task He has placed before us. Then all we have to do is step back and watch God do what He always does when His people follow Him without reservation: create unstoppable momentum that changes the world.
