Message from the Director of Fine Arts

Fine Arts are a priority at Landmark Christian School at every grade level. We believe that God has called us to develop students spiritually, intellectually, physically, and artistically. Our desire in the Fine Arts department is to send out Renaissance men and women to impact the world for Jesus Christ. All of our students are exposed to both the visual and performing arts beginning in elementary school through high school. Whether it is art, band, chorus, theatre, guitar, photography, or praise band, every student is encouraged to develop their creativity.

The Landmark Fine Arts Department is committed to providing quality instruction, engendering within the student a love and appreciation for the arts, and developing a disciplined artist in a nurturing environment where Christian values are modeled. Our goal is to provide the serious student maximum opportunity to learn and grow as well as to create an environment where students are enriched as a result of their exposure to the arts.

The faculty acknowledges the Lordship of Jesus Christ and seeks to integrate faith and life through artistic expression in hopes that all creative endeavors (concerts, plays, painting, homework, casting, etc.) will be guided by God, the True Creator. It is our hope that students educated under the guidance of the Fine Arts department will leave Landmark prepared to impact the artistic world for Jesus Christ.

In art, we are once again able to do all the things we have forgotten; we are able to walk on water; we speak to angels who call us; we move, unfettered, among the stars. We write, we make music, we draw pictures because we are listening for meaning, feeling for healing. And during the writing of the story, or the painting, or the composing or singing or playing, we are returned to the open creativity which was ours when we were children. We cannot be mature artists if we have lost the ability to believe which we had as children. An artist at work is in a condition of complete and total faith. Taken from Walking On Water by Madeleine L'Engle.

We Understand the Value of Fine Arts in the Classroom
From elementary to high school, we ensure Landmark Christian School students are exposed to the fine arts. We understand the value of fine arts and the positive impact they can have on children, from music and theatre to art activities in the classroom. We challenge our students to discover the artistic gifts that God has given them. We ensure that all of our students participate in band and chorus at some point throughout their tenor with us. As they grow, we expand their artistic horizons even further with film, graphic design, fashion design, and so much more. We want our students to find their gifts – be it elementary music or visual arts – and grow their God-given gifts.

We Teach Awareness & Understanding of the Fine Arts
Landmark Christian School teaches awareness and understanding of the fine arts at every grade level to ensure exposure from a young age. We offer art, band, chorus, theatre, guitar, photography, praise band, graphic design, and film design, among other disciplines. We encourage every student to develop their creativity and further explore the artistic area they most enjoy. Our fine arts department is devoted to providing students with high-quality instruction so that they might develop a love and appreciation for the arts. Given the opportunity to learn, grow, and create, our students lead enriched academic lives during their time at our private school.

We Invite You To Visit Our Private School Today
Our premier private school seeks to integrate aspects of faith and artistic expression. The exposure to fine arts that we offer our students ensures they will reach their full potential. Students exposed to the fine arts at a young age can become so much more than bright students or talented athletes – they will be the well-rounded person that God wanted them to be. We encourage parents and students alike to visit our school to see a theatrical or musical performance, view the art on our walls, and talk about the fine arts with our teachers and staff.
Every student prepared to impact the world for Jesus Christ
