A Message from Admissions

General Information

  • Registration for each camp closes at 8:00 a.m. three days prior to the camp start date. For example, if the camp begins on a Monday, registration closes at 8:00 a.m. on the preceding Friday.
  • Please keep in mind if the minimum camp requirement is not met three days prior to the camp start date, the camp will be canceled.
  • If a student is signed up for both a morning and afternoon LCS camp, the school will provide lunch and supervision in the cafeteria from 12:00 pm. until 1:00 p.m. Younger students will be escorted to lunch and then to their afternoon camp. Note: If your child has special food allergies/intolerance, you may want to send a sack lunch instead.

    Creative design and play by up-cycling cardboard to build race tracks, castles, arcade games and mini-cities. Students will engage in cooperative design and play to achieve the given task.

    Camp Description:
    Cheer camp teaches young athletes the essential skills to lead a crowd and support a team. Participants will learn cheers, proper hand movements, as well as voice and facial expressions to enhance their cheerleading skills. Camp will focus on having fun while learning important life skills such as team building and leadership. The week concludes with a choreographed performance! Each cheerleader receives a camp shirt.

    Camp Description:
    This camp will offer introductory Mandarin language lessons to Elementary students grade 1-5. Children will be given lessons on basic dialogue, learn vocabulary words, Chinese characters and numbers. In addition, it will include hands-on lessons about Chinese culture, food, and arts and crafts projects. Instruction to be given by Landmark Alumni Lauren Krotz who is a member of the National Chinese Honor Society, as well as an Honors Mandarin 4 graduate. Lauren is currently studying Intermediate Mandarin at Furman University with a double major in Politics & International Affairs and Chinese Studies and is on the Dean’s List. Assistance and supervision will be provided by Sue Krotz, an LCS parapro.

    Camp Description:
    Students will have the opportunity to channel their inner engineer as they explore with LEGOs and K'Nex in order to design and create structures and interactive models. They will learn how to use LEGO blocks, motors, sensors, and basic computer programming to make fun projects such as a lion who roars and an alligator that chomps when he sees something. Each day students will create new projects as they learn how simple machines make things work.

    Campers will learn techniques to improve their speed, power, and running form. Activities will include drills, form development, starts, character development, along with contests and games.  Campers of all skill levels are welcomed. This camp is for rising 1st Grade - Rising 8th Grade boys and girls. Also, there will be an Olympic Champion stopping by for a visit.

    Camp Description:
    Non-contact football camp for grades 1st through 8th grade. Campers will be divided into age groups for skill development and fundamentals. The camp will be staffed by Varsity and Middle School Football coaches as well as current Varsity Football players. Campers will receive instruction in stance, footwork, punting, kicking, throwing, catching, running routes, handoffs, tackling, and coverage mechanics. The camp will have several competitions stressing sportsmanship and development of the competitive spirit. Each day will have devotions lead by the staff. We aim to help your son grow as a Godly young man, develop his skills, and prepare him to be a Landmark football player.

    The youth camp will be a basic fundamental camp where we will talk about fielding ground balls, fly balls, knowing what to do with the ball, game awareness, etc.  We will talk about running the bases and the importance of how to run them.  We will teach basic swing mechanics, have different hitting stations, etc.  Day 3 we will play some simulated games and give out T-shirts to all attendees at the end of Day 3.

    The Youth Softball camp is open to Landmark and non-Landmark girls, rising 1st through rising 8th graders. In this camp, campers will strengthen the fundamentals of the game and be pushed to improve their skills, where appropriate (for advanced-level campers). The campers will be guided through fun games and competitions as they grow in their softball skills. In addition, the campers will be led in a devotion each day, with a concentration on spiritual, social, and physical development.

    Day 1 of defensive footwork and pitching mechanics.  
    Day 2 will be an in-depth hitting mechanical day where we discuss approaches, demonstrate, and go through hitting stations to gain a feel for what we have taught.
    Day 3 we will play simulated games and discuss the things done well and things needed to be worked on that we see in the simulated games based on what we discussed and worked on.  We will give out t-shirts at the end to all students.

    Camp Description:
    This Summer Drum Camp will be lead by James Riles, the Executive Director of The Atlanta Drum Academy, www.atldrumacademy.com. Under Mr. Riles direction students will learn the fundamental techniques of drumming so they can be successful in drumline or drums in general.  Students will also learn to read music specific to drumline instruments and how each drum works within the drumline ensemble. Team building and leadership skills will be a focus and an outcome of the camp. Students of all skill levels can participate.

    Students will be introduced to the concepts of songwriting, digital recording, creative collaboration, playing/singing in a band and performance technique.  We will have a few guest speakers who are professional songwriters and producers.  We will have a performance for each other at the end of the week to show (optional to invite parents).  This will be a fun, exhilarating and safe creative space for students to explore their musical ideas.

    This camp is a four-day last-minute preparation for the ACT on June 8, 2019. Time management and strategies for each section will be practiced during the camp. This camp will feature timed practice with lots of repetition for optimal success.  Mr. Gilbert will focus on math and science skills and Dr. Davis will focus on English and reading skills.  Setting reasonable goals and learning to score practice tests provides confidence and an edge before testing.

  • Drum Line Camp

    Camp Description:
    This Summer Drum Camp will be lead by James Riles, the Executive Director of The Atlanta Drum Academy, www.atldrumacademy.com. Under Mr. Riles direction students will learn the fundamental techniques of drumming so they can be successful in drumline or drums in general.  Students will also learn to read music specific to drumline instruments and how each drum works within the drumline ensemble. Team building and leadership skills will be a focus and an outcome of the camp. Students of all skill levels can participate.

    Camp Description:

    Get a crash course in all the foundational grammar terms. Learn what they are, what their purposes are, and how to use them through hands-on activities and game-based learning. This camp could act as a great pre-cursor to the DGP Summer Camp.

    2. Coached on the fundamentals and dynamics of the event

  • Lady Grooms Basketball Camp (Girls & Boys)

    Camp Description:
    Our basketball camps focus on teaching basketball skills through intensive control drills. First of all, we want our players to have fun! We take pride in sharing our love for the game. Second, we prioritize several core skills areas in our basketball training program to ensure players experience success. Come join us “on the court” this summer.

    Camp Description:
    Students will be introduced to the concepts of songwriting, digital recording, creative collaboration, playing/singing in a band and performance technique.  We will have a few guest speakers who are professional songwriters and producers.  We will have a performance for each other at the end of the week to show (optional to invite parents).  This will be a fun, exhilarating and safe creative space for students to explore their musical ideas.

    Camp Description:
    This camp is a four-day last-minute preparation for the SAT on June 1, 2019. Time management and strategies for each section will be practiced during the camp.  This camp will feature timed practice with lots of repetition for optimal success. Mr. Gilbert will focus on math skills and Dr. Davis will focus on English and reading skills. Setting reasonable goals and learning to score practice tests provides confidence and an edge before testing.
