Landmark Christian School Hires Amy Harriton as Associate Head of School

Landmark Christian School is pleased to announce the hiring of Amy Harriton as Associate Head of School. She will oversee the middle school, high school, International Student Programming, and College Counseling. 

Harriton has a degree in English from California State University, Northridge and a Master’s degree in Education - Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. She has eighteen years in education ranging from teaching high school and middle school English classes to administrative roles. Harriton comes to Landmark Christian from Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, California where she was the Academic Dean for three years. Prior to that position, she was the Dean of Online Students and Instruction at Oaks Christian Online School. 

Harriton has traveled to look at best practices from schools around the United States and internationally. She has spent time working on accreditation committees, advising and measuring strategic planning for K-12 schools with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. 

Amongst her many talents, Harriton has spent time working on curriculum for both traditional and online programs. She has spent time creating strategies and plans for faculty development, and school practices and procedures. Harriton also has expertise in student learning plans, and numerous other student and faculty support structures. 

“In my vocation, I strive to stand in the Word and act in accordance with my worldview,” Harriton said. “Within the school and alongside my colleagues, I am working to provide an education that develops an affection towards goodness, truth, and beauty: a goal that requires ongoing reflection and refining of curriculum, pedagogy, and policy.”

Harriton has two children, Emma (fifth grade) and Nathan (second grade), both attending Landmark Christian in Fairburn. Her husband Steven also works at Landmark Christian as a composition and production teacher in the Music Academy. In her free time, Harriton enjoys exploring, reading, entertaining, and being near—or in—the water.
