Varsity Wrestling Places 5th at State

Last weekend the Varsity Wrestling team hosted Sectionals in hopes of heading back to State Duals for the third year in a row. Coming into Sectionals, the War Eagles were crowned 5-A Dual Champions for the second year in a row after going 4-0 on the weekend.
In the first round of Sectionals, Landmark matched up with Towns County High School, located in Hiawassee, GA. The team had a strong performance, winning the match 78-6 to advance the final round of Sectionals.

The War Eagles then faced Armuchee High School of Rome, GA, in the final round of Sectionals. With the chance to appear in their third consecutive State Duals, Landmark finished the day victorious, beating Armuchee 47-36.

Head Varsity Wrestling Coach Mike Bedosky commented, “The boys wrestled incredibly well and were focused on the job at hand. I was proud of the way they battled and encouraged one another during the duals.”

Landmark moved on to State Duals, held on Saturday, January 30th, at Trion High School where they met Mount Pisgah in the quarterfinals. After the day, the War Eagles finished 5th. Congratulations on a fantastic season! More information regarding the State Duals can be found at
