Melissa White has been at Landmark for two years and is making an impact on students and faculty. She not only has a passion for Christ, but she also has a gift of photography and uses this talent in and out of the classroom. On any given day you will find Melissa teaching bible class, serving others, investing in students, taking photos, or running the new Christian Life Instagram account.
Melissa has been in student ministry for 20 years through church, school, and university settings. She is a graduate of Lee University with a degree in History, with Bible, and minor in Theology, and currently working on her master’s in youth and family ministry. She is Director of Kids and Students ministries at Summit Church in Newnan. She has also spent the past 15 years as a wedding photographer.
You may be wondering how she ended up at Landmark? Well, our very own Fred Gilkeson (Coach G) heard about the good work she was doing and encouraged her to apply for a role at Landmark in the Christian Life program. She shares with us that teaching was not in her plan but she followed God’s calling. We are blessed to have her pouring into and connecting with the youth at Landmark Christian.
Melissa and her husband, Greg, have been married for 20 years and are both originally from Douglasville, Georgia. Greg is the pastor at Summit Church in Newnan and they have two beautiful boys, Ian age 15, and Nolan age 3.
Melissa’s prayer for her students is for this to be a year to remember, a year God transformed their lives, and for all to see him more clearly. She is preparing our students to impact the world for Jesus Christ.
