Landmark Christian School and the Department of World Languages are pleased to announce a new seal to distinguish and honor our graduates. The Landmark Christian Seal of Bi-literacy (in accordance with the GA. Department of Education Seal of Bi-literacy, est. May 2017), recognizes graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in one or more world languages in addition to English. The seal shows the business community that these students have the world language skills and cultural knowledge needed to be successful in the global market.
To qualify for the seal, students must:
complete the English language arts requirements for graduation with an overall grade point average of 3.0 (85 or above).
complete the world language courses with an overall grade point average of 3.0 (85 or above).
demonstrate spoken, written and listening proficiency in one or more languages other than English (i.e. Spanish and Mandarin)
score a 4 or 5 on the Advanced Placement Exam for the second language.
Abigail Dietz, Janna O’Reilly, and Allison Nye (class of 2017) are the first LCS graduates from the AP Spanish Language and Culture Class to qualify for the new Seal of Bi-literacy. We are so proud of these students, and look forward to honoring more World Language students in the future!
