Math Faculty Attend Georgia Mathematics Conference
The Landmark middle and high school math faculty attended the Georgia Mathematics Conference at Rock Eagle on October 19-20.
The Landmark math department (middle and high) attended the Georgia Mathematics Conference at Rock Eagle on October 19-20. Math Department Chair Dennis Wilson presented at this conference for the ninth consecutive year. Wilson's presentation was “Making ‘sense’ of Functions”. During the session he presented strategies for teaching functions using concrete input and output using a microcontroller called the TI Innovator Hub. The idea for this presentation grew out of the Landmark camp Wilson held this past summer on circuits and coding. Wilson was also selected as president of the Georgia Association of Advanced Placement Math Teachers.
In March Wilson will be a presenter at the Teachers Teaching with Technology International Conference in San Antonio TX. He is also hoping to present at the Conference for the Advancement of Mathematics Teaching in Houston this June.
