The purpose of the Learning Solutions Center is to provide academic support for current Landmark students diagnosed as having a learning difference that adversely impacts academic performance. The program strives to help each student embrace individual talents and abilities, with a realization that struggles in life are a way that God works in us and through us. The ultimate goal of the program is to maximize strengths in each student in an effort to achieve academic success within the classroom.
Eligible students will receive academic tutorial assistance for concept for skill attainment, learn compensatory strategies for individual learning differences, receive test preparation, study skills and organization strategies, as well as identify technologies to increase and improve academic performance. Through an instructional /support model, class sessions will focus on strategies to help students become self-advocates as they explore and appreciate their individual approaches to learning. Juniors and seniors will explore postsecondary options and utilize decision-making and planning skills in preparation for the transition to college.
Eligibility decisions are based primarily on a learning difference documented on a current psycho-educational evaluation. Participation requires a fee in addition to tuition.
