“Burt”, a German Shephard, will soon be placed with a soldier as a service dog through Healing4Heroes (H4H), a nationally recognized non-profit based out of Peachtree City. This organization pairs rescued dogs with soldiers in need of a service animal. Burt was rescued by Becky Rowe, Director of After School at Landmark.
Landmark Christian School senior Steven Samuels has been named the school’s 2022 STAR Student. The Midtown Atlanta Rotary Group announced the honor Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at a virtual breakfast held in honor of all Fulton county schools STAR award winners. Steven selected Dennis Wilson, Honors Multivariable Calculus II teacher at Landmark Christian School, as his STAR Teacher.
Not often do you find a hidden gem in your surroundings, however, Landmark has found one in coach and teacher Baffour Osei. He works to keep his father and grandfather's education legacy alive.
Coach B, as he is known around campus, is not only the running back coach for Varsity and JV football but also the STEM teacher. Originally from Ghana, West Africa, he moved to the U.S. at age 13, to live with the McMaster family. He studied physics at Fisk University and played baseball while also attending Vanderbilt University to play football and earn his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering. His parents still live in Ghana where his dad was in the Navy and stationed all over the world.
Cameron Dobbs, Class of 2017, recently visited Landmark and shared her story, passion, and wisdom with students during chapel. Cameron shared that Landmark Christian School’s rigorous course load, competitive athletics, and leadership-building courses clearly prepared her not only for life after high school but to succeed in all things. A quick glance at her resume shows her numerous accomplishments from ACC Network Color Commentator for the 2020 ACC Volleyball Championship, Sideline Reporter and Media Director for the 2021 Cal Ripken World Series broadcasted on Stadium, Iron Arrow Honor Society member (the highest honor one could attain at the University of Miami), Division I collegiate athlete, Division I collegiate coach, CNN featured “Difference Maker,” author, podcast host, speaker, business owner, nonprofit founder, Miami Hurricanes Event Host, and the list goes on.
Addison Lee is a 4th-grade student at Landmark who plays softball, basketball, volleyball, and runs cross country. Her favorite sport is softball and her favorite color is blue. She loves to read and has read the Kane Chronicles series, the Harry Potter series, and the Percy Jackson series among others. She has two siblings at Landmark; her brother Jackson, Class of 2028, and a little sister Lillian, Class of 2035.
The Terek family, Matt, Leslie, Mattie, and William have been a Landmark family for eleven years. Mattie, now in 11th grade, began in first grade, and William, now in ninth grade, began in K5. The Terek family has a passion for giving back not only in the greater Atlanta community but within Landmark Christian School.
Evan Murunga, a 6th-grade student at Landmark Christian, plays flag football for the Andrew Young YMCA Westside Falcons. He and his team recently won the 12U Recreation Division and will advance to play at the national tournament in Las Vegas, during the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl, in February. In addition to his team winning, Evan was named Nerf Next Level Player for the division which is the equivalent to MVP! He and his team will be the only youth flag team from Atlanta, who are sponsored by the Falcons Foundation.
These days everyone spends a lot of time in front of screens. If you’re a parent concerned about your kids and their screen time, we’re here to help. Melissa White has been at Landmark for two years and is making an impact on students and faculty. She not only has a passion for Christ, but she also has a gift of photography and uses this talent in and out of the classroom. On any given day you will find Melissa teaching bible class, serving others, investing in students, taking photos, or running the new Christian Life Instagram account.
Director of Security Mr. Marion Dukes’ goal is to create a safe environment for students, faculty/staff, parents, and visitors at Landmark Christian School.
How did this former Clemson offensive lineman, free agent to the Dolphins, and Canadian Football League player join the Landmark Christian School family? Simple, he says, his wife Sierra is a 2004 Landmark Christian alumnae. Mr. Dukes brings Atlanta Police department experience to Landmark, the fit was natural. Mr. Dukes, aka Coach Dukes, not only handles security he also is the offensive line coach for the varsity football team and a varsity baseball coach.
Steven Samuels, Class of 2022, is one of three seniors at Landmark named a National Merit Commended Student in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program. Steven was selected based on his 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) scores.
Oh, and recently he earned his private pilot license. Casual.

When you hear “muscle training”, what comes to mind? Most people think of the "bro" split workout program. This would be something like - biceps and back on day 1, triceps and chest on day 2, then legs and abs on day 3. Then repeat! That is all fine and can totally work - if you are a bodybuilder. However, if you are trying to do something that involves the full body every day, one different approach is to try training movements.
Below are the main differences between movement training and muscle training.
Meet Sydney Tanner, a 2020 graduate of Landmark Christian. Sydney attended Landmark for 14 years, K4-12. She was active in sports throughout her years at Landmark, cheerleading in elementary school (2nd-5th), and playing volleyball (6th-12th). Sydney’s dad sparked her love for volleyball and she committed to the game after playing in middle school. During her high school career, she was a four-year varsity volleyball letterman and team captain. She is now playing Division 1 volleyball for Furman University and was awarded the SoCon 2021 Academic Athlete award demonstrating excellence in her coursework.
Like many Landmark students, Emerson Nogueira has been extremely busy getting back in the groove at school, but when he isn’t in the classroom, he is slaying tires at the race track. He has an incredible passion for drifting that started at a young age watching professional drivers on the internet and dreaming of a future where he would be able to do the same. About two years ago, Emerson went to his first event as a spectator to experience the scene and find information about how he could join. It was that same day that he met a driver with a spare helmet who would change his life forever with a simple question: “Do you want to ride?” Emerson was completely hooked and could not wait to get back on the track - but next time in the driver’s seat.
