  • Middle School Chorus

All middle school students participate in a music performance class. Beginning in sixth grade and continuing through the eighth grade, students have the opportunity to participate in Band and Chorus. During the middle school years, students continue to develop their music reading skills, sight reading, tonal memory, singing scales, improvisation, and performance.

Chorus in middle school is divided by grade level and there are also two auditioned ensembles available: 7th and 8th grade Women's Ensemble and 8th Grade Honors Chorus. (Sixth-grade students are required to participate in both Band and Chorus for the entire year.) The goal in middle school is to introduce proper vocal technique, sight-singing, and basic musicianship to the students. Students develop good choral singing practices while learning a variety of music and styles in two, three, and four-part harmony. The choirs perform in both Christmas and Spring concerts as well as adjudicated music festivals every year. The choirs have consistently received Superior ratings at these festivals. Additionally, many of our students are accepted into GMEA All-State Chorus every year.
  • High School Chorale

High School Chorale is a Fine Arts elective and is an open ensemble for all high school boys and girls. In Chorale, students continue study and practice in proper vocal technique, sight-singing, and basic musicianship. Mid-level to advanced choral literature is introduced in multiple styles, genres, and languages.
  • Chamber Singers

Chamber Singers is an auditioned ensemble of 12-16 members that showcases the school's top vocal musicians. The Chamber Singers primarily perform advanced a cappella vocal literature in multiple styles, genres, and languages. They perform several times each year at school, and community concerts, and special events. Prior to auditioning for Chamber singers, a student must have completed one year of high school Chorale.

Chamber Singers and Chorale both offer Christmas and Spring concerts and travel each year to participate in major music festivals held in cities such as Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Vienna, Austria, as well as Florence and Verona, Italy.  Landmark consistently receives Superior ratings.  Many of our high school choral students are accepted into GMEA All-State Chorus each year.
