Middle School
At the middle school level, students are introduced to a wider variety of art experiences. Building on the elementary foundation, students continue exposure to the masters through art history and are introduced to a variety of mediums. There is continued focus on exercising a working knowledge of the elements of art, the principles of design, and how to apply these tools to their work. The young artist gains confidence in critical thinking skills in order to create stronger compositions in drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, and 3-D works.
High School
At the high school level, students may continue a Visual Arts focus. The following Visual Arts electives are available to all high school students: Foundations of Art, Graphic Arts, Drawing/Painting, I, II, III, Pottery/Sculpture I, II, III, and Digital Photography I, II, III, and IV. Students desiring a more advanced Visual Arts curriculum are encouraged to consider one of the three AP Studio Art course offerings: AP Studio Art Drawing and Painting, AP Studio Art 2D, and AP Studio Art 3D (with faculty approval).
